During my employment as the Senior Motion Designer on the Spark Driver™ app team, I kicked off an initiative to create a systematized 3D animation pipeline. I helped to recruit and hire another motion designer, Nick Mooney, to help with this effort. 
While I primarily concentrated on making character designs and rigs that would be flexible and fast to adapt into new characters, Nick contributed many 3D props, backgrounds and environments, including a Walmart parking lot and a fully stocked produce section. 
After the initial setup work was completed, we were able to calculate that this 3D library approach enabled us to produce new videos about 40% faster than under our old 2D animation approach.
